As you approach Anglesey from Bangor at the approach to the Menai Bridge is a sign saying YNYS MON MAM CYMRU which means Anglesey Mother of Wales. This dates back to early Welsh history when much of the food required was produced on Anglesey. This continued until quite recent times and because of this Anglesey has a strong tradition of farming. Much of the island is unspoilt countryside with many pleasant walks for the visitor.
There are a number of places of interest on Anglesey on the following pages are some of them and more will be added as time permits.
